Some people find dotted rhythms very complicated. Watch the video and follow the music, and it should help you to understand how the rhythms fit together.

At first sight this piece doesn't appear to be that challenging, but the left hand part is quite complex. In order to achieve legato, some nifty finger changes are required.

This piece says 'I mean business!' There's a lighter middle section which feels less intense, but then it's back to it. There are some important solos for the left hand - make sure you let these moments really sing out.

I've written today's piece for a very special friend, who reaches a milestone birthday tomorrow. To play the piece well, great care needs to be taken over the quavers, which often repeat the main melody note or even go above the melody, but should always be played softer, so as to not outshine the melody.
